Gill Ashcroft, Founder and CEO of Exceptional Care and Think Tank Academy, is a successful businesswoman with a difference. Her entrepreneurial drive started early with investments in property, retail ownership, and even running a public house. With a yearning to give back, she had a calling to do something in the Care industry, specifically for children. She became one of the youngest ever responsible individuals in the care sector. She opened her first home in 2014, and with the support from her team, she grew the business to ten children’s care homes, helping hundreds of children turn their life around. At just 26, she had the highest position you could have in the care sector (private), which was an outstanding achievement. Care and compassion are in her DNA; donating and supporting charities, food banks and underprivileged families, raising money through competitions to win experiences, empowering families and mentoring businesswomen to success. Gill is a living example of the power of women and their impact on society.
Exceptional Care is a therapeutic children’s care provider for children aged 8-17 from complex backgrounds who display challenging behaviour and EBD. The service is an independent social care organisation with multiple residential units across the whole of the North-West. Gill maintains a high standard in her homes and has achieved multiple awards. Exceptional Care has plans to grow to 13 homes. Gill strives to initiate policy change in order to improve the sector.
