Discover how to redefine your fitness and re-energise your body with the Movement for Longevity Coach, Sarah Clough
When you buy a car, a TV, or a washing machine, you get instructions. Yet your incredibly complex body, which you have for life, comes with none! It’s no wonder so many people are confused about their health and fitness, especially with so much conflicting advice out there.
Sarah, a former fashion designer turned movement, wellness, and longevity coach, knows this struggle firsthand. She battled lower back pain, aching joints, and constant fatigue. Despite seeking help from top health professionals, nothing addressed the root cause of her problems.
After hitting rock bottom, Sarah took matters into her own hands. She retrained as a Pilates teacher, researched the ageing process and its surprising link to chronic pain and fatigue, and developed a system that has freed hundreds of women from pain, enabling them to live vibrant lives.
Sarah’s whole-body health approach is refreshingly simple, rebalancing the body and rewiring the mind-body connection. You’re left feeling renewed and invigorated, ready to live your dream life. The key, she says, is to address issues at a cellular level, getting to the root cause rather than just applying temporary fixes.
Here she shares four tips for becoming pain-free, strong, healthy and revitalised:
1. Reduce Inflammation: Chronic inflammation, a leading cause of pain, starts at the cellular level. Practising time-restricted eating by not eating for 12-14 hours a day (e.g., 7 pm – 9 am) allows your body to clear out toxins and repair cells instead of focusing on digestion.
2. Calm the Nervous System: Lack of sleep, stress, and pain release cortisol, which is beneficial short-term but harmful if it becomes chronic. Try visualising a calming colour as you breathe in for a count of 5 and out for a count of 6 to help manage stress and improve sleep.
3. Improve Posture: Correct posture is the foundation of your body’s health. Poor posture strains joints, leading to injury and fatigue. Stand tall and maintain proper alignment to support your overall well-being.
4. Move: Incorporate movement into your everyday routine. Small, consistent activities throughout the day are more effective and beneficial than a single hour at the gym. Keep your body active with frequent, varied movements to support overall health and vitality.
