So How Was 2024?
Hi everyone, Emma James Jenkinson here! As always, I’ve been busy dancing my way through an incredible year.

One of the highlights was heading to Prague with my friends from Jelli Theatre College for the Dance World Cup. It was an unforgettable experience, and I was thrilled to bring home a silver medal, plus be part of the winning Dance World Cup Team—England! Competing against dancers from 66 countries and over 120,000 competitors was amazing. Beyond the competition, I made new friends from all over the world, and we had so much fun in the evenings. To top it off, Jo Arnett-Morice, the UK team manager, received a letter from the King congratulating us all—how cool is that?

If you’ve followed my blog, you’ll know how much I love Musical Theatre. This year, I got to see my talented friend Jack Butterworth in Kiss Me Kate at the Barbican in London. The show was filmed and shown in cinemas across the country, so I was lucky enough to see “my boy” Jack twice!

I also want to share something really useful for disabled people—the Access Card. It makes visiting theatres and other venues so much easier, and if you’re eligible for a ‘plus 1,’ you can bring a companion for free. Thanks to my Access Card, I’ve enjoyed amazing shows like Moulin Rouge in London and local productions of Wicked, 101 Dalmatians, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

For those who need a little extra support, don’t hesitate to ask for reasonable adjustments. Small changes can make a huge difference, and everyone deserves to enjoy the arts without barriers.
