Hi, I am Emma and I am thrilled to be asked to be a regular contributor to the Power of Women Magazine. My Mum and my business partner (and friend) Misha will help me with writing my words.
So, who am I? well
I love to dance and perform.
Dance is what I do.
Dance is who I am.
Dance is my voice.
Dance is where my friends are.
Dance is where I am happiest
I go to college at Jelli Studios and have been a dancer with Loretta Legge Theatre School (LLTS) since I was 6, I am 20 now.
I trained to be a Dance Leader with friends at DanceSyndrome. As a Dance Leader I am qualified to work with a dance artist/ teacher to co-deliver dance classes. I enjoy being a teacher and working to help other people enjoy moving and dance.
Misha and I work together, we have been friends for quite a while and we have set up our own business – EM – Everyone Move – with Emma and Misha. If you are interested in finding out more, or arranging a class, have a look for Everyone Move on Instagram, Tik Tok and Facebook.
We have started teaching classes every Friday at ‘A Chance To’ in Knowsley and at ‘ACT for ACTION’, we get paid for doing what we love! The people in the class say they enjoy it too, we include some sing and sign in our dance classes and some dance moves sitting down so everyone can join in.
2023 has been AMAZING so far. You’re wondering why?
January – I performed in the Musical Theatre Show with LLTS.
February – With my college group – UNITY – we auditioned for BGT and you will have seen on the show that aired in May we got an extra special GOLDEN BUZZER from Simon! It was such a fantastic experience.
March was a busy month! I was paid to model dancewear for Capezio (a global brand) at a photoshoot in London promoting the fact that dance is for anyone – Everyone can Move! Also, with Jelli and Everyone Move I performed twice on the Main Stage at MOVE IT at the Excel in London. MOVE IT is the biggest dance event in the world and there were 4000 people there watching – and screaming. I also performed on the showcase stage with Jelli and taught a class with Dancesyndrome at MOVE IT.
April – April was all about our college show – Chicago. I loved it and was very proud of all my friends. Plus, LLTS Comp Squad got 2nd in a competition for our group dance – LISTEN.
May – BGT aired and my life went a bit crazy! The day after BGT I was at a comp with LLTS performing LISTEN. I think this was one of the best weekends in my life!
In June we are off to the LIVE SEMI-FINALS of BGT in London. By the time this magazine goes to print we will know what happens but at the time of writing this – who knows? I do know we will have lots of fun.
In my next article I will give you all the back stage gossip from BGT and I will also be able to tell you all about representing England at the Dance World Cup in Portugal in July and how I got on as a finalist in the Merseyside Sparkle Awards as – Most Inspiring Female!
In our golden buzzer performance I say “some people say I can’t – I WILL” – just watch me. I am so happy that you are joining me on this journey.
